Iko Uwais Wannabe??

Hubby: "Yang, masa tadi Pak Dani manggil aku 'Iko' pas aku mau masuk rumah."
Saya: "Hah? Iko? Macam Iko Uwais gitu?"
Hubby: "Iya kali yah. Mungkin dia pikir aku mirip Iko Uwais itu. Ganteng." (GR sambil senyam-senyum)
Saya: "Mmm....." (sibuk ngunyah makan malam)
......
Hubby: "Eh, jangan-jangan aku salah denger lagi. Jangan-jangan sebenernya dia manggil 'Niko' tapi aku dengernya 'Iko'." (sedikit kecewa)
Saya: "Hahahahaha."

First, I tought about my roof garden as the location, but that day was so hot so i changed my mind. Im pretty happy that the gazebo with the grass behind it really fit my wardrobe. The contrast of red, blue, and green appeared beautifully. It somehow reminds me of traffic light lol.

My Book Has Launched!!

Yeeeeeyyy!!!
I cant explain how proud Iam when my editor said that my book has launched :D :D :D
Im so super duper happy and very berry exited about it!! :D :D :D

Well, I hope you dont mind if I share so called "behind the scene" of my book :)
My book is about interior design (although Iam an architecture graduate :p). It contains 40 interior designs of living room, bedroom, kitchen/dining room, and bathroom. The theme of the design is multifunctional room and furniture. The theme refers to urban living design which has a problem with "how to design a small room with a big need".

In order to fullfil eficient and effective design, I design the interior with modern and simple look. Why must modern look? Because if I designed it with a classic or chinoiserie style, it wouldnt fit the theme. A classic or chinoiserie style has a bunch of detail, like carving, heavy pattern, and sculpture. If your rooms are small, you cant put those styles into it. It just makes your rooms look smaller and crowded. So, modern and simple design is the best answer to be applied on the theme. About the color, I use pastel colors, like brown, pink, grey, and beige. But I dont use it for the whole design to avoid the boringness. Instead, I put some pop colors, like red, blue, yellow, and green to brightening the design. I love pop color :D

I read about ten interior and architecture books to get some inspirations when I got stuck. You know, its not easy to create 40 designs for original, unless you copycatting them :p
Some of my favorite books (they helped me so much when I got blank) are Convertible House by Amanda Lam & Amy Thomas, Store It by Mervyn Kaufman, and Small Space by Rebecca Tanqueray.

Actually, I didnt work alone to complete this book. My friend, Andri Munov, a designer freelance, helped me to render all of my sketchup design with 3D Max. His work is amazing as you can see on his page. Without him, my designs wouldnt be this beautiful :D Thanks, bro!

So.... ladies and gentlemans, here I present you my book :D

The cover design is dope, isnt it? Mas Dimas Yossa Dinton as a graphic designer made it perfectly :)
I guess he picked the purple color due to the decoration of my wedding party that he attended
was combination of purple and pink color :D
Easy to spotted at the floor! Yaay!! :D
Even they put them on the top shelf! Great! :D
I made miss salesperson took this photo ;p

Carrefour Treasures

I just found out recently that Carrefour has a mini spot for unique yet cute goods from China, Japan, and Korea. Those cute items have a variety of functions of household goods, such as bathing, cooking, and sewing appliance. Moreover, I found some electronic goods, like USB, earphone, and mini speaker. I also found some stationery stuff, such as pencil, pen, eraser, and ruler. Might it sounds so cheesy because you could find them all almost in everywhere, but lemme tell you, these items are not expensive as Ace Hardware's or Aksara's. And the most important thing is, the design is super!

I'll prove it to you. Here some of the item I bought :D

I just loooove these pencils. They have colorful cutie birdie hang on top!! I even grab it for  three ;p
I heart this birdie the most! :D
These are also my favorite. You can put your photo on it ;d
They are super cuuuute!! Per item is worth Rp12.900
"What is this?" was on my mind at first
And.... it is a cable roller! So creative!! Its worth Rp19.900.
I also found Spongebob speaker for about Rp25.000/Rp30.000 (I forgot).
Nice!!

Let them happily ever after :D

Happy to found this cute porcelain cup as it has a cup cap made of rubber and a nice print on it :)
Its worth @44.900

If you think these are some kind of toys, you are wrooong ;o

They are cup cap with a very super kawaii design. Match with the porcelain cup :D
Its worth about Rp30.000 something (I forgot).

It had taken much time to post this article. I couldnt make it at one shot because some events happened. Like, when I was in the middle of posting this article, I had to go somewhere so I left it unfinished. And the next day when I was posting the rest, a blackout happened at my house. Finally I can finish it now. Fiiuuh :p
Enjoy the article :)

Mi Kocok

My hubby is a very humorist person. For me, he is the funniest person on earth. He often doing some practical jokes or create some new quirky word. Tonight he made me laugh again.

Hubby: "Listen, babe. Listen this noisy sound Xbox made when Im turning it on."
Me: "Hmm... Yeah."
Hubby: "PS3 wont make this noise when I turn it on. PS3 has a smooth sound, not like this one. You know, Sony itself has some kind of like "green development" to make sure its devise has very best quality. Not like this Mi Kocok made."
Me: "Huh???!"
Hubby: "Mi Kocok a.k.a Microsoft." (FYI, Microsoft is Xbox's developer)
Me: "Muahahahahahaha."

Love you babe. Always :*

Mayestik Experience

I'm feel kinda desperate to find some cute long skirt which has a beautiful batik and flower pattern. Well, actually there are lots of skirt which have those patterns at some mall or ITC (International Trade Center), but those are either just not my desire or too expensive to be bought. So, I decided to make my own skirt and looked for the fabric at Mayestik, one of famous fabric shop complex at my home town.

I went there on March 8th with Bella, my sister-in-law. After struggle with the nasty traffic along Radio Dalam street and strayed away at some junctions, finally we reached Mayestik. To find one single parking lot there could be as difficult as find a parking lot in Citos (Cilandak Town Square) on Saturday or Sunday night. But luckily we found a parking lot in front of a fabric store that located at the junction. So, we decided to stopped  by at that store, hoping find some nice fabric.

My hope gone away. I didnt find it. So we went to other store, located exactly just two blocks from the first store. This store looked small, plain, and usual so we didnt intend to stopped by at first. But the store's mannequin said the otherwise. It covered with a nice cotton fabric that captured us. When we came in, the shopkeeper invited us to the second floor. Suddenly I'm amazed because the store wasnt as small as we thought before. It is BIG. It has six floors and each floor filled by, I dont know, maybe hundred fabrics.

The fabric comes in a variety of patterns and materials, like lace, cotton, brocade, you name it. We was so amused by those beautiful fabrics that surrounded us.There are two fabrics that really captivated me, exactly like what I want. I directly went to cashier to bought them.
......
And I hunt for one more fabric at the neighbour store :p
Im gonna make some nice skirt! Yippiiee :D

look out the heap of fabric behind me! :o

Surrounded by beautiful fabrics :D

Here are the fabric that I bought! Cute, isnt it? ;)
